Eros is sculpted from one solid piece of red elm.
It is firmly mounted to a steel two-part base, which allows
for rotation of the sculpture. There exists a vertically plum
centerline to the sculpture which is seen from opposing sides.
The pinnacle of eros maintains its center as it
is rotated. A three-inch diameter steel base is fastened firmly
into the wood and is inset precisely into the larger base. eros
can be lifted from its larger base and proven its unique balancing
characteristic upon the three-inch base.
The title suggests its harmonious interlocking embrace of two
separate figures, combining together to become one. Its organic
movements and sweeping curves return our attention to the nature
it was inspired from.
