Willow is one of the most underrated woods there is. The word "curly" refers to the iridescent horizontal wavy lines on the wood caused by the great weight of a large tree over many years compressing the tree's trunk. This sculpture is a form that I have repeated over the years in various species. The shape is inspired by aquatic botanic and shell life. The vertical "backbone" stands precisely plumb. The base is made of dyed maple wood.

16 1/4 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches deep.
