The redness of the male Box Elder Maple tree is a strong characteristic of this wood. The backside of the piece retains the natural burl texture as found beneath the bark layer. The black feature that supports the sculpture (very stably) and becomes the center of its flowering form is painted steel. The wood has been treated with UV resistant polyurethane to maintain longevity of the natural redness. It stands 16" tall and 15" wide.  AVAILABLE
