This continuous flowing form is comprised of seventy-four triangles all cut from the same small log. It is a three sided mobius, making three lobes -like a Celtic knot.
The red color streaks in boxelder are natural to the species and are a result of a wood boring insect introducing a fungus into the tree, resulting in the tree's immune system generating redness.
