Snakewood

Please click on the images for a more detailed view.

Brosimum guianense is the true name for Snakewood, which is also commonly referred to as Letterwood or Amourette. This slow growing tree can only be found in Suriname, a South American country. It is one of the hardest (4th hardest) and heaviest woods on earth. This vase-like sculptural form is one of the largest objects you'll likely see made from a single peice of this wood. Stands 13 inches tall.  AVAILABLE
