Turning the Wind

In its massive stance, “Turning the Wind” demands attention as it’s detailed grain of American elm wood prove it sculpted from a single timber. Once a tree of four feet in diameter at the trunk, and an age of over one hundred years, it contains a unique grain pattern, being wind-twisted from a long life at the edge of a hill.

“Turning the Wind” is a perfect execution contrasting free form natural movements and manmade industrial geometry melded harmoniously together. It was meticulously sculpted to be seen beautifully from all sides, and is now being offered full scale in a limited edition of bronze, fitted for indoor or outdoor placement.
