American Chestnut was once once a popular wood, but is now extremely rare due to scarcity. Few of these trees remain due to inability to resist a foreign fungus. This tree was taken down for highway expansion over ten years ago, and was collected by a woodworker who offered me what survived outdoor storage. The incredible selection that offered this beautiful piece of wood was found deep within this very large American Chestnut tree.  18.5" tall, 9" wide, 6" deep, mounted to black marble.  AVAILABLE
