The latest in my series of burl wood and spheres uses maple for the main body and ash, birch, and maple for the lathe-turned balls. The message of this sculpture is resurrection, restoration, and ascension, The spheres represent an astronomical force coming from afar and giving life again to something that has passed. The "live" burl surface (often discarded in much woodworking) is elevated and celebrated, making beauty of error.
