Box Elder Maple
Please click on the images for a more detailed view.
The beautiful red streaks that make box elder maple a notable wood are the result of the tree's immune system fighting the presence of a fungus that a beetle carries into the tree. The red generally exists wherever a small hole is seen. The simple shape makes good use of the several growth rings of the tree's circumference where the redness is most prevalent. Stands 17.5 inches tall, stably upon its black marble base. AVAILABLE
