“Symphony” is carved from one solid piece of black walnut within the branching region of its trunk. There is a uniqueness seen in its grain because of the transitional movements captured in the wood. It has been finished with linseed oil and is fastened to a two-part marble base. The inner, rotational part of the base is about two inches in diameter and is precisely inset into its larger base for stability. “Symphony” has a very unique balancing characteristic, having the ability to stand on its smaller two inch base, while the upsweeping vertical backbone line remains perfectly plum.
